Debbie brings over 20 years of experience in Financial Services, with a strong focus on Operations and Practice Management. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in driving process improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, and implementing strategic change.<\/p>\n

In May, she joined The Financial Planning Group as Operations Manager, where she is leading the transformation of the firm\u2019s operations strategy, streamlining back-office functions, and supporting succession planning initiatives. Debbie is very people-focused and values strong relationships, whether she\u2019s working with clients or collaborating with colleagues. She believes that communication, mutual trust, and a bit of humour go a long way in building a positive and productive environment.<\/p>\n

Outside of work, Debbie is a passionate traveller who prefers sunny destinations over colder climates, often exploring the world with her husband and children. She also enjoys spending time at her allotment, where she grows an eclectic mix of produce and is always in a friendly battle with the local wildlife. A keen home cook, Debbie loves recreating dishes inspired by her travels and balancing it all out with regular sessions at the gym.<\/p>\n

Marichen joins FPG as our Senior Client Support Administrator, having relocated from Cape Town, South Africa, in early 2025. She studied a Bachelor of Commerce in Investment Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning at Stellenbosch University, where her passion for helping people take control of their finances really took shape.<\/p>\n

After a few years of experience in the industry and a competency examination, she received the Certified Financial Planner\u00ae designation from the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa.<\/p>\n

Outside of the world of financial planning, she’s someone who values connection, fun, and nature. She enjoys quality time with family and friends, watching live sports, and making the most of the outdoors \u2013 rain or sunshine.<\/p>\n
