Most of us dream of what we\u2019ll do when we stop working \u2014 seeing more of the world and more of our families are just two dreams that top the list according to a survey by\u00a0unbiased.co.uk<\/a>. The top five retirement dreams are as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. The ability to go on regular holidays<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. To go travelling<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Being in a position to help children\/grandchildren get on the property ladder<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. To go on a cruise<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. To buy a new car<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    However, all these dreams have one thing in common \u2014 which is that they\u2019re not likely to come true without careful retirement planning. We all know retirement is definitely going to happen, sooner or later, so planning for it as thoroughly as possible is only common sense. Tellingly, of those who dreamed of retirement globetrotting, just 16 per cent were confident that they\u2019d have the money to do so. It\u2019s a very depressing figure \u2014 it suggests that most of those dreams are already seen as pipe dreams. Nearly half (43 per cent) of respondents said they weren\u2019t confident of making their retirement dreams a reality.<\/p>\n
