A recent report into pension advice behaviour of those aged between 54 and 71 has found that those who had planned for their pension provision after taking professional advice were, on average, 39% a year better off in retirement than those who had made their decisions alone.<\/p>\n
The survey also found there is a real reluctance among the baby-boomer generation to seek expert advice \u2013 47% of those questioned admitted to have done nothing, or were planning to do nothing, to gain more knowledge about pension retirement \u2013 with just 20% having sought face-to-face regulated financial advice. Worryingly, an even smaller number (17%) would even consider government-endorsed schemes such as the Pensions Advisory Service or Pension Wise.<\/p>\n
